White County Plumbing  Apprenticeship Program

The White County Plumbing Apprenticeship Program is a four-year program and is taught on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. for 160 classroom hours per year.  This program was designed by the White County Plumbing Apprenticeship Committee and approved by the Department of Workforce Education's state apprenticeship offices.

The state of Arkansas requires that a person working in the plumbing field must either have a journeyman or master plumber's license or be enrolled in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program and working towards that goal.

Classes usually begin in September, but students can register anytime throughout the year once he/she are employed by a master or journeyman plumber.  State law requires an apprentice register with the Arkansas Department of Labor within 30 days of gaining employment in the plumbing field. To qualify for the plumbing apprenticeship program, students must be employed by a master or journeyman plumber and working 2000 on-the-job training hours per year. Tuition is $165 per year.  Cost includes the cost of textbooks.
