FINANCIAL AID STUDENTS

If all documents have been returned to the Financial Aid office, please continue to check your Campus Connect account. If you have been awarded your amounts will show under “Review Financial Aid”. We are working diligently to complete your award.

Appeal Meetings:

The Appeal Committee meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. You must have your appeal letter, appeal cover sheet, and extenuating circumstances documentation turned into the Financial Aid Office by 3:00 p.m. the Monday before the committee meets. Your appeal will not be reviewed until you have all documentation completed.

2009-2010 Financial Aid Applications:
  • Deadline to complete the FAFSA for 2009-2010 is June 30, 2010.
  • Financial Aid Applications for the 2010-2011 academic year will be available January 2, 2010.
Academic Challenge Hour Requirement Notice:
  • Academic Challenge students who graduated Spring 2009 must be enrolled in the required 12 credit hours the day after the census date to be eligible to receive the award for the Fall 2009 semester. First-year students must be enrolled in 15 credit hours in all future semesters.
  • Continuing students must be enrolled in the required 15 credit hours the day after the census date each semester to be eligible to receive the award for the 2009-2010 year.

If you are not registered in the required hours, the Academic Challenge Award will be canceled and if you have a balance on your account, you will be responsible for payment. If this happens, please visit the Cashier's window or call the Business Office at 501-882-8876.

Academic Challenge students can no longer add courses for the 8-week terms and receive the Challenge award. Classes must have commenced by the census date.

Financial Aid Refund Checks:
Fall 2009

Financial Aid refund checkswill be released beginning September 11, 2009. All student loan refund checks may not be available on September 11, 2009. Student loan refund checks for first-time borrowers will be released beginning September 29, 2009. Refund checks are disbursed by the Business Office. All Loan paperwork (e.g. Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note) must have been completed before loan refund checks are disbursed.

Spring 2010

Financial Aid refund checks will be released beginning January 28, 2010. Refund checks for first-time borrowers will be released beginning February 12, 2010. Please check your Campus Connect account for the amount and availability of your refund. Refund checks are disbursed by the Business Office. All Loan paperwork (e.g. Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note) must have been completed before loan refund checks are disbursed.

If you decide you do not want your student loan after you have completed the loan process, please notify the Financial Aid Office in writing for cancellation.

Deadlines:
Spring 2010

ASU–Beebe's priority date for financial aid applications is November 1. After November 1, applications will be processed on a first come first served basis.

Summer 2010

To be eligible to receive summer financial aid you must have attended ASU-Beebe the prior semester or plan to attend the upcoming fall semester and have remaining eligibility for the current academic year. First-time students must enroll for the intersession or first summer session. Visiting students who attend summer school only are not eligible for student aid. In addition, you must be pursuing a degree offered at ASU–Beebe. Priority deadline is March 31 of each year. After March 31, applications are processed on a first come first serve basis.

First–Time Entering Student Loan Borrower

First-time entering student loan borrowers must be enrolled 30 days before loan funds will be applied to their account. Tuition payment arrangements must be made with the Business office if you are only eligible for a student loan or your Pell grant award does not cover your total tuition and fee balance. You also must be prepared to purchase your textbooks.
