Computer Basics

At both our Heber Springs and Searcy campus locations, we offer courses that will provide the skills necessary to successfully navigate the programs that operate on a typical personal computer. The course is designed to be informative and provide the opportunity to ask questions to understand the power you have at your fingertips when you use a computer to track files, photos and more. Computer Basics

In this eight-hour hands on workshop, you will learn how to effectively manuever through your computer's programs. The introductory skills that you can expect to learn will include how to power on/ off the computer, how to create and manage file folders, how to use the programs on the computer, how to send email messages and how to work and edit pictures among the many topics that will be covered.

Cost: $60 per student

  

Computer Basics Plus

This course is designed to be a continuation of Computer Basics that will go into further detail and build upon the skills taught in the first class. The student will learn how to utilize different programs, save pictures from your phone or camera, burn/ create a disc of documents or pictures, save and retrieve information from a jump/thumb/flash drive as well as explore one-on-one questions in class.

Cost: $60 per student

 

Location: Heber Springs and Searcy campus

Schedule: two days, four hours of class each day

The Continuing Education/Workforce Development Department at ASU-Beebe sponsors numerous non-credit classes that are designed to meet the needs of the general public and business workforce.

Advanced Programs

Through a partnership between A-State and ASUB, students may earn baccalaureate degrees from Arkansas State University by taking coursework at the Degree Center on the Beebe campus.
