The purpose of this program is to empower students to present themselves as highly professional candidates for employment.
All ASU-Beebe students are eligible to participate in the Career Readiness Academy. Interested students should contact the Student Success Center at 870-882-8906 for instructions on how to get started.
The Career Readiness Academy will consist of individualized career counseling sessions with a Career Counselor, attendance at a variety of career development workshops and events, and participation in a number of virtual services offered through Career Connect.
Students who graduate from the Career Readiness Academy will gain knowledge and skills to ensure success in the job search, receive a Certificate of Achievement from the University Student Success Center, earn a Letter of Recognition from the Vice Chancellor for Student Services, receive a zip-bound portfolio to house all necessary professional documents, and earn an accomplishment which may be added to the resume. Should a student choose to complete the program in phases, they will receive a Certificate of Completion for each phase followed by the above listed items once the program is completed in full.
The Career Readiness Academy’s curriculum is divided into seven primary components including Assessment, Research/Exploration, Resume Writing, Interview Preparation, Job Search Strategies, Professional Networking, and Real-World Experience. Within each component are required objectives as well as, in many instances, multiple electives. Students will be charged with completing all required objectives and will choose at least three electives to be eligible for graduation from the program. Students can choose to take the fast track and complete all requirements in a single semester or they can choose to complete the program in phases.
