Satisfactory Academic Progress Definitions

PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY IN ITS ENTIRETY. PLEASE CONTACT THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE AND ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY PART OF THE SAP POLICY.

All students attending Arkansas State University-Beebe are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards in order to receive Federal Financial Aid. These standards apply to all financial aid applicants whether or not the applicant has previously participated in federal student aid programs.

All hours attempted as a Non-degree seeking student or a concurrent student or auditing courses all count toward SAP.

An exception is made for a concurrent student right out of high school in that the student will be placed on WARNING status for one semester only and will have SAP evaluated at the end of their semester to determine continued eligibility. The student may need to contact the Financial Aid Office if they have been flagged not meeting SAP as the update is a manual process.

All hours attempted from regionally accredited institutions will count toward SAP. Previous majors from all institutions (regionally, non-regionally and/ or non-accredited) will be counted toward SAP.
