Medical Laboratory Technology prepares you for work in a medical lab under the direction of a pathologist performing procedures in hematology, serology, immunology, chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology, and urinalysis.

A graduate can expect to work in pathology laboratories of hospitals or private pathology labs, doctors’ offices, reference labs and industries. Work hours may vary with the needs and support of the medical staff. A graduate can also become a sales representative for laboratory supply companies. Eligibility to take the exam for medical laboratory technicians is given by several nationally recognized boards such as: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and American Medical Technologists (AMT).
