This class introduces students to the art and science of beekeeping. Beekeeping craft topics include the history of beekeeping, honeybee biology, beehive equipment, apiary set-up, beekeeping protective clothing, techniques for handling honeybees, honeybee colony health, hive problems, and honey production. This class will be held on three, full-day Saturday sessions. Weather permitting, students will visit an apiary and open beehives.
The cost of the class is $55. Classes formed at other campus locations based on requests.
