Computer-Aided Drafting and Design

Overview 

Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is a hands-on based degree program using a wide variety of CADD software packages, including Autodesk products like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, and Revit, Dassault Systèmes' SolidWorks, and Creo (formerly known as ProEngineer).

CADD graduates will have the skills to create, revise, and detail, 2D or 3D CADD files such as:

  • Solid model parts and assemblies using state of the art parametric solid modeling software titles such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, and Creo
  • Produce professional quality drawings for complete shape, size, and form dimensions and necessary specifications, for parts, assemblies, buildings, structures, and earth projects
  • Residential and structural construction modeling and detail drawing using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Develop land parcel drawings, contour mapping, plan and profile views using Civil 3D
  • Use ESRi'S ArcGIS to perform attribute queries, spatial queries, vector and raster geoprocessing and address locating

Students completing the courses EGT 2144 Introduction to SolidWorks and  EGT 2244 SolidWorks II are prepared and have the opportunity to complete the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) and Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) exam on campus.
