COVID-19: Library Services And Resources

Abington Library continues to be available to help with your research needs. Due to COVID-19 concerns, library services might be done differently during this time. We will keep this page updated along with Canvas, the ASU-Beebe Mobile app, Facebook and Instagram pages.

Currently, the library is open from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday for ASU-Beebe students only, and closed weekends. We are operating under enhanced protocols based on Governor Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health Secretary’s March 26, 2020, directive on “Limitation of Gatherings.” However, our online resources are available to you 24/7.

Enhanced Protocols

The library has implemented enhanced protocols to protect both our students and our staff. They include (but are not limited to):

  • limit of no more than 10 students in the building at one time
  • social distancing measures - such as closing down computers located next to each other
  • providing disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer dispensers in convenient locations
  • minimal staffing on a rotational schedule

Online Resources

The library has a wide range of online resources including journal articles and eBooks. You can access these through VanguardSearch, Find an eJournal, and the Online Databases page. Off-campus access to online content is available. Your login is your full ASU-Beebe email address and the password that you use for that account. If you need to reset your password, you can go to https://reset.asub.edu. See Off-Campus Access for more information.

Circulating Materials

Fines will be waived for those materials not checked back in on time. We don't want students worrying about the items they have out. Materials can also be renewed by calling 501-882-8976 or through our library catalog online.

Interlibrary loan will only be processing electronic materials at this time. Many libraries are trying to minimize the handling of physical materials as much as possible. In addition, a number of libraries are closed, so obtaining materials through this service is more limited, than in normal circumstances.

Research and Instructional Services are available asynchronously through email and PowerPoint presentations. They are available synchronously through Zoom. For research questions fill out the Ask a Librarian form. For instruction requests, fill out the Schedule Library Instruction form.  Library Research Guides are available 24/7 and have information on a wide variety of subjects.
